Comments for Townshend, Pete, Empty Glass

E-MAIL: dhasti9936@aol.com
I worked as sound engineer at Eel Pie when Empty Glass was being recorded. The intro for Rough Boys was played through a Roland and Avatar guitar synthesisers triggered by differnet strings on Petes guitar to create different effects in stereo. Pete did several takes but never did the same thing twice. He always said ''I never repeat myself'' I wondered if he really meant ''I never rePete myself. Empty Glass is a brilliant album and when the final cuts had been mixed Pete brought the mixes back to Eel Pie to listen to them. He walked into the control room and wacked the volume right up. I was with Tony Butler ( Big Country ) at the time and the sound blew us both against the back wall of the studio. It was fantastic. I love all the tracks and that album had a profound influence on my life ( i left my wife)
Definately the best Townshend album to date. Every song isa jewel. Listen and experience.... Hear and what more needsto be spoken.
