This style of music isn't really my cup of tea, but it works quite well when performed live.

Probably because it wasn´t written by Toyah, "Dreamchild" sounds to overproduced, which is sad because we all know how great storyteller Toyah is.

This is a rotten album!!! It is faceless, boring 90's dance music complete with the overused electric house piano pumping out the same exact sounds as any other dance acts of this decade. The electronics today all sound the same and far too precise to sound like anything interesting. If this album was done in the early 80's, when electronics sounded odd and bizarre or beautiful and haunting, maybe this shit would be passable. Toyah has far too much talent to waste it on this garbage. Let's hope she listens to her Safari catalog and gets the inspiration to do something along those lines again. Contrary to popular beleif, you don't have to change to stay interesting and especially not with what this horrible decade has to offer. Scott Davies 8/22/97

I happen to think this was a Damn good album. Expecially World Of Tension. I know it's not the type of music we expect fromToyah, but she needs to experiment and grow and I think she did a damn good job. She can't spend her life doing cover versions of her older songs. I say, Cheers to Toyah for this album. It's nice to know that as I mature and change, that her music can come with me.

The most depressing thing about this album is that Toyah hasn't written a single word for it. The album blends insignificant lyrics with ambient techno sounds that somehow don't blend with Toyah's unique voice. Surely the album got its good moments on Dreamchild, Tone Poem and Unkind, but songs like Out Of The Blue And I Don't Know are so far away from Toyah. I wonder why Minx is considered the black sheep of her catalogue. An equally commercial album but at least there's far more original Toyah on it than on this one.

The only problem with this album is being too predictable. This should be more agressive, tecno and wild. A visit to Slimlight (industrial floor) could be the best cure.

I don't have this album but the 'Phoenix' album which is the same except for one track. I think that this is the type of cd you play when you are busy doing other things around the house! It's not Toyah as we know it but it's alright. I can't say that it has any passion and it does take some getting used to.

This has a few good tracks on it, world of tension,I don''t know and dreamchild, the rest isn''t really to my taste, especially tone poem which sounds to much like the owl and the pussy cat for my liking!
