This was the first Toyah CD that I bought, which was all of 3 months ago, and the one that made me fall in love with her. I had not heard a thing off of it but had been wanting to know what she was like for a while. As soon as I heard the first song "Ieya" I new I was in love. This song is over 8 minutes long and still does not seem long enough. Wild vocals and her famous hacking up the plegm sound make this a stunning and timeless classic. There does not seem to be any BAD song on this disc but some highlights are "Love me" and "Mummies". Scott Davies 5/30/97

IEYA probably inspired more seminal new wave/punk than probably anyone imagines. I thinks it's a milestone. I don't link the ordering of the songs, but only a CD will change that, and I only have the LP.

Anyone know a good place to purchase Toyah CDs? I am not having a lot of success! Thanks

Guitarist Joel Bogen didn't join GTR - that was bassist Phil Spalding (who incidentally didn't play on this album). Bass duties were handled by Charlie Francis. There were rumours of tension in the studio whilst recording this album. Toyah sacked all the band (apart from Joel) after this album. Not one of her best but some good moments, namely the title track, Ieya, Vision and Love Me.

This IS a brilliant album. It sounds a bit rough and obscure, but nevertheless the songs are excellent. No need to mention Ieya, but the others display a highly original Toyah as well. Love the dark sound of Blue Meanings and She as well as the unique Spaced Walking. Does anyone know why it's only an edited version of Helium Song?

This album made me fall in love with Toyah!! It was pretty much the first album I ever had and it is still the very best toyah album. The song blue meanings is fantastic..there is not 1 track on this album that I do not love!!! This is Toyah at her very best.

This is a classic Toyah album, it's so dark and mysterious, it sends a shiver down my spine. Okay, it gets a bit over the top sometimes (like Insects, for example) but the whole album is so original and unique and in a world of its own. Wow!

apart from all her albums being brilliant, this one,for me, holds more of her rock power than her others.obviously it is deep, dark and her hypnotic sounds create corridors of fantastic imagery, particularly in SHE ,which is the spookiest song i have ever encountered in music and lyrics(the blend of these two components are grabbing).i amm overley fond of TIGER TIGER,all the other tracks are fabulous.

what a superbly-educated & musically-insightful lot the Toyah cognoscenti are!! This album is, of course, the pre-publicity apex of Toyah''s true musical genius. The raw idealism of Sheep Farming blended with sharper production technique & a touch of the dream sci-fi lyrics which encapsulated her most prominent later hits. Blue Meanings is dark, Spaced ... funny, Mummies & She spooky, the entire album from Love Me to Ieya a masterpiece. There''s no better lyricist before or since Toyah. (us fans also know she still kicks it live too, even approaching the Millenium)
One of Toyah`s earlier releases. Lots of bizarre pitch-changes, etc.Points of Interest: Toyah Willcox is married to Robert FrippBassist Joel Bogen later played with "GTR"Toyah is vocalist in the group "Sunday all Over the World"
