A wonderful stint into toyah-frippish music. The companion to SUNDAY ALL OVER THE WORLD's "Kneeling at the Shrine" which maintains its own, more toyaish tone.

This is another mellow but attractive album. It contains the song "Brilliant day" which is one of the best songs Toyah has done. Some of the song suffer from a subtle "Funk" feel which ruins some of the borderline songs, especially since I hate funk in any shape or form. Scott Davies 5/30/97

When I was told that Toyah performed with her husband in Hamburg - of course another date I missed - I was informed that the music sounded like King Crimson with Toyah singing to it. So I got myself a King Crimson Collection to prepare myself for this album and then there it was. Partly it does sound like Toyah and then again it's more King Crimson than Toyah. Nevertheless, this is a fine album. The title track and Turning Tide are unique recordings that shouldn't be missing in anyone's record collection.

THE Toyah masterpiece album! A fantastic recording which (along with "The Changeling" and "Prostitute")is the best from her album ouput. Brave change in musical direction, excellent vocal treatment and some of Toyah's most wonderful lyrics. "Homeward", "Prospect" and "Shaman" are the jewels in this Toyah crown. I could never tire of listening to this album! NB: "Lords of the.." and "Brilliant Day" were originally written and performed live with Sunday All Over the World during their gigs and tour of the UK and Europe. This is also Toyah's own personal favourite album of her album back-catalog. Some of you may have read my interview with Toyah at the Tellurian web-site from last year which mentioned the re-release of this album. FEAR NOT : I spoke to Toyah recently and she is adamant that this will be re-issued but won't be till '99 now due to her ridiculously hectic work load. Watch out for 'Ophelia's Return'!!
