This album seems to over do it on the "Adult" feel with a number of boring Light rock songs. The cover of "Echo Beach" is great but it sounds as if Toyah needed to study the lyric sheet a little better. "Moon migration" is the albums gorgeous stand out track. "Moonlight dancing" and "The view" are just darn unnecessary. A B-side from this album titled "Sun up" is the Highlight of Toyah's 87 work. Can anyone help me find this one on CD too? Scott Davies 5/30/97

I actually quite like "Moonlight Dancing" and "The View"; on the other hand, I feel that the cover versions are unnecessary, particularly the Moroder one, which just doesn't fit in, IMO.

Toyah's done better than on this album, although it does feature some outstanding tracks. The cover of Echo beach is much better than the original, Revive The World has got a lot of Toyah's early 80's energy, although it sounds a bit too arty with Tony Geballe`s (nevertheless excellent) guitar. I never figured out, though, why the best tracks from 1987 - Plenty, Sun Up & Re-entry Into Dance - were all exiled on the B-Sides. That will remain a mystery to me as well as the question who put Love's Unkind on the album.

The record company MADE Toyah record 2 cover versions for this album to make it more commercial. All the b-sides were probably recorded for the album but rejected by EG.This album has some excellent tracks BUT does not work as one album with no lyrical, musical or artistic common link. Toyah has said herself it is wrong. Scott Davies should calm down, "Moonlight Dancing" is a classic Toyah track and was actually written in 82 with the 'old' Toyah band but was only recorded at a later date (87). The live version of "Revive the World" performed with Kiss of Reality at their ocassional gigs in 1992 is far superior to the "Desire" album version and the "Acoustic Album" 96 re-recording.

Calm down! Indeed... Some of these songs have grown on me, although not the 2 I mentioned in my previous post. I was aware that Moonlight Dancing was older as I have Toyah singing bits of it included in an 82 performance of, the dreaded, Dawn Chorus. Scott

i know this album was not readilly accepted by a lot of people, but it happens to be one of my favourites. the power behind TOYAH`S voice inter-acting with the music in THE VIEW and PRETTY BABY is remarkable.hear these two songs really loud and capture areally hypnotic tensity of diversity.this album was meant to be played LOUD.
