Comments for Toyah, Best Of Toyah

This is a fair collection of Toyah's early stuff with the obligatory "Hit" singles and some great album tracks. It also contains the enormously catchy "Tribal look" which seems to be this CD's only B-side rarity. Scott Davies 5/30/97

Finally there was more of Toyah''s back catalogue on CD. When Great Expectations released Toyah''s first three albums, I expected the others to follow, but the following years proved me wrong. As to the selection of songs, I think it''s been well done covering songs from every period of the Safari days and including all the singles as well as some fine tracks from The Changeling that could have been singles too. Wonder why they weren''t. On the other hand, this CD doesnT really include the ''best'' of Toyah, as there''s so many songs missing, but the running time of a real ''Best Of'' CD would probably be at least five times as long to include all the great tracks.

This CD is not really "The Best" of Toyah, but it is a fair compilation of her best tracks from 1979 to 1983. The single "Bird In Flight / Tribal Look" has never been released on a long player before, except for the live version on "Toyah! Toyah! Toyah!"
