Comments for Toyah, Warrior Rock

Track listing should also include the final song, `Ieya', which takes up the bulk of side 4, which appears to have gone missing somewhere along the line...

Now this is a great live album. Toyah's voice is in top notch shape and even adds further beauty to "Jungles of Jupiter" and makes "Castaways" even better than the original version. "Angel and me" appears in it's new version with a chunk of the lyrics removed in favor of a guitar solo. All of the songs seem to run a bit longer than the originals do to extended instrumental passages and audience sing-a-longs. It, of coarse, has all of her hit singles making that the only real downfall to the album. Scott Davies 5/30/97

Does anybody know if this album is avaliable on CD ?? Where can I get it. Itīs the best album ever made by Toyah.

As is the case with most of her albums, no, this one is not available on CD (and most likely has been deleted from all other formats long ago - yes, it's a pain) If I understand correctly, there are ongoing efforts to sort out the copyright issues for recordings from this period, and once resolved, we should (with luck) see some CD releases.

From the U.S.--In the year "84 the "USA"TV channel aired a "FULL 2-HR LENGTH FILM/VIDEO" which was announced as"TOYAH-Live at the Rainbow.. ................Where can we get "our greedy little paws" attached to that??!!! Thanx, defi

"Toyah at the Rainbow" and the recording of "The Old Grey Whistle Test" were both released on BBC Video in the early '80s. Fairly typical of that era of videos, they're recorded in mono and the picture quality isn't great (I tried to copy them and wasn't successful), so your best bet is to try to find them second hand.

Actually, The USA network DID air "Toyah: Live At The Rainbow" in 1984 but it was only a 30 min. excerpt. Minus ads it lasted only 21-22 minutes. I did get that much, though.

For anyone searching for Toyah video you need look no further than the North American fan club. The guy that runs it has a HUGE list of Toyah videos for sale. We're talking over 25 different tapes with an average of 2 hours on each. He also tries to stock all Toyah recordings and helped me locate some of the more difficult items but don't look for Anthem or Minx on CD. Those are probably the rarest Toyah items. Scott Davies

It's energetic and one of the best rock music ever made. The problem is I just have a second hand cassette recording, and I could not find the CD anywhere here in Holland. Could someone help me with the CD....???

Some tracks from Warrior Rock have been released on a budget CD entitled "Live and More".

The magic of the Changeling tour captured on a double live album. Not much to say about this other than GREAT BAND, GREAT SHOW. Should also have been released on video - none of the other Toyah videos come close.
Double live album recorded at London`s Hammersmith Odeon, on17th/18th July 1982.

I saw Toyah in 1983 and the back of the programme had an advert for Warrior Rock as an LP, a limited edition gatefold LP (which I bought - I never saw a copy that wasn't gatefold), a cassette with extra tracks (never seen it, don't know what they were) and a video. For the life of me I never saw a copy of that video in any shop at the time or seen one since. One day...
