Comments for Toyah, The Very Best Of

This is definitely the CD to start with for newcomers. It contains most of her early singles and some of the great album tracks such as the essential "Street creature" and "We are" It also contains a remastering of "Be proud, be loud, (be heard)" which seemed to be lacking in fidelity on the first best of CD. The booklet is a bit bewildering saying that a number of tracks from the first 2 albums have never been on CD before when they infact were, although finding those early CD's now is proving to be difficult for some. This is a very good compiliation and shows Toyah in fine form across a wide range of styles. Now, if they'd only release "Love is the Law" on CD...

My personal favorite- "Dreamscape" - is missing (sigh). The album "Love Is The Law" deserves to be released on CD. Until that happy day, this will have to do.

This is an excellent compilation of singles and album tracks from Toyah`s time on Safari Records. It is more comprehensive than the first "Best Of" CD and features album tracks from The Changleling and Love Is The Law for the first time on CD. I wish someone would release these albums on CD in their entirety. The CD contains the full 8 minute, 14 second version of Ieya, and the edited (single) version of Brave New World.
