Comments for Toyah, The Best Of Toyah - Proud, Loud & Heard

Another great compilation with enough 'rare' tracks to make it worth buying. Both 'Run Wild, Run Free' and 'Brave New World' from 'The Changeling' are included and they link together as on the original album. Good packaging and the price is very reasonable too.

Definetely the best of "the best of"'s !! This CD is excellent ; The packaging is stunning, the sound quality is great and the track listing, inspired and a special someeone selected most tracks! I spoke to Toyah recently and she co-compiled this CD collection with the record label, picking her favourite tracks from the Safari recordings she made.She specifically picked strong b-sides which hadn't previously appeared on CD. (eg. "Stand Proud", "Sphinx") This is also the first best of collection to includee a live track which captures the raw energy and strength of Toyah in concert. A fine CD which should be in EVERYONE's Toyah collection.

Another nice collection. Finally, someone saw fit to release "I explode" on CD! Great cover. My only bitch is the slightly lower sound quality on "Furious Futures". Of coarse all the obligatory "hit" singles are included. All we need is 20 more of these compilations and maybe we'll have everything on CD. Scott 12/4/98

It is great to hear "Stand Proud" again after so long. My mate Andy (who was young at the time) gave his flexi disk of Stand Proud away for 50p to a friend called Claire Brownley because he fancied her. Typical. It is worth buying this album for this track alone!

Another fine compilation with the obligatory hits, that includes some fascinating tracks from the Four (More) From Toyah EPs as well as `Sphinx` and `Stand Proud` that were originally released on flexi discs. The album includes sleeve notes by Alan Robinson, three more pictures of Toyah, who also receives special thanks from the makers of this record for assistance with this compilation. Well done.
