Kathy became more progressive into pop in the mid 1980`s for this Grammy nominated album. But tragedy beset the Troccoli family. Her father died of cancer in 1972. Her mother sufferred breast cancer. Kathy made the hard decision shortly after Images was released to leave Nashville and return home to Long Island to take care of her ill mother, who eventually also sufferred liver cancer which proved to be terminal. This tragedy left Miss Troccoli away from music for five years and even when her career resumed, she stayed in Long Island instead.
