Blow-your-socks-off remake of "Where have all the good times gone". "Secrets" is one of the best un-heralded VH songs ever (Eddies guitar hook will send a chill down your spine).

Little Guitars rocks. Other than that, there are better VH out there. What does he say there anyhow? You know it goes: Bomp Bomp Bomp, Bomp Bomp Bomp. Its hard to explain. Mike

"Where Have All the Good Times Gone" is good, but too many covers (though I liked "Happy Trails").

Yes, this is a good album, but I totally agree with EVH that this is the worst of the Van Halen Legacy. Doing the cover tune "Pretty Woman" was pretty cool, Eddie truly adds a dimension Roy Orbison couldn't have, especially with the "Intruder" intro. It is great to have a friend listen to "Intruder" who has never heard this version of "Pretty Woman" before and have them guess what song it is. Basically the only two real VH songs on the album are Lttle Guitars and W.H.A.T.G.T.G. The first is a great piece of work, while the second is a little too generic VH. Definitly could have done without "DANCIN' IN THE STREETS"...ech! Overall, still a good album, just too much filler.

Yeah there were a lot of covers , but that was Dave's idea. Eddie still shows off his superior skills in Cathedral and The Full Bug!! Hey it's Van Halen.

This is one of my favorite VH albums. Big bad bill is one of the best covers ever.

I know there are lots of covers on this album but it is still Van Halen. Everything that Edward touched became Van Halenized. You actually believe that Roy Orbison can sing Pretty Woman better than Dave did (GET REAL)
E-MAIL: this version of "Dancing In The Streets" sucks.

This album was designed for safetly after the commercial bust of Fair Warning. It was designed for hits. The whole thing was nothing but pop and spineless covers. It is one of the worst results of the Music Industry. Not that the music is bad, but the whole thing is Van Halen being something they're not. This is a very good contrast to 1984. Here they try to be pop with someone else's music, whereas 1984 they're pop with their own music. Just goes to show what happens when a band is untrue to itself. The song that is the truest song in the artistic sense is The Full Bug. It sounds like it could be off their earlier records .... Secrets is just horrible. Little Guitars is a little too poppy for me. I like pop, but that song is just a little stupid for me. Come on, a band singing Etch-a-Skecth? What was Dave on when he wrote that crap??

Fair Warning a BUST??? Please!!! That was a great album...one of the TRUE VH albums for a few years during this time period...Oh yeah..I''m supposed to be talking about Diver Down, hmmm..Well I really liked Little Guitars...a great display of Eddie''s range....and the remake of Big Bad Bill...well....when else have you ever got to hear Eddie and Alex''s father play??? Definitely not an album that I rate real highly....... High Points-- Little Guitars,Full Bug,Intruder, and Hang Em High Low Points- ANOTHER freakin version of Dancin In the Streets Bottom Line--Well It IS VH!! Best Band of the 80s Rock Era
Van Halen`s fifth outing was somewhat lackluster, boastingno less than five cover songs. Still, originals like LITTLE GUITARS and THE FULL BUG display the skills of this Americanrock`n`roll band.
