Comments for Wagner, Jack, Lighting Up The Night

Once again, a very underrated release from Jack Wagner. A strong ( but hardly noticed ) second release from then General Hospital star. With the addition of Jeff Lorber on keyboard and David Foster's contributions, this was a well-crafted album. The title track is a synth-based pop great melody but did not receive the airplay it deserved back in '85. Other highlights include the big-band sounds of "If She Loves Like She Looks" along with excellent orchestral work on "Love can Take Us All the Way." Valerie Carter's duet with Wagner on this piece works extremely well and is a fine concluding song to a substantial overall effort. No longer available, as are all of Wagner's later albums but it is worth the time to try and find it.

His best album, an AOR masterpiece!!! Extremely rare, excellent songs and singing. Produced by Clif Magness and Glen Ballard.
Wagner`s second album.
