Comments for Wedding Present, Watusi

Some great pop songs, but not the WP's best. They shoot themselves in the foot a few too many times, marring otherwise good songs with irritating refrains or guitar lines. "Spangle", "Gazebo", and "Swimming Pools..." are all great songs.

Perhaps their weakest effort, I can't figure if the blame is with the production (songs often don't sound like a band, but a collection of instruments playing in different corners of a room) or the songs themselves.

A more poppy sound than "Seamonsters" or the HP singles, and "click click" is great, along with "gazebo" and "spangle". Not their best, but a little different and refreshing because of that.

More than anything else, this album reminds me of ''seamonsters'', which therefore makes it one of their best. Granted, it''s not as good as "seamonsters'', but hey, you can''t win ''em all. The addition of female backing vocals on a few tracks is a nice counterpoint to Gedge''s angsty-mopey drone.
The first time I listened to this album I loved it. Almost two years later I am still enjoying it. Spangle is one of the bestWedding Present songs I have ever heard. Other good songs include Gazebo, Catwoman, and It`s a Gas. The last track Hot Pants is a instrumental which should be included on your car mix tapes.
