Comments for Wire, The Drill

Wonderfully minimalistic, it contains nothing but variations on the "Drill" track from the 1987 "Ideal Copy" album.

"There can never be enough Drills in the world" exclaimed Bruce Gilbert of Wire. You might think otherwise after hearing this effort. It starts well enough with "In Every City?" a mashed version of 12DrillU which in itself was a mix of Drill and 12XU. "What''s your desire?" is quite good but by track four, the weak "A Berlin Drill" it all starts to go a bit haywire and slightly tedious. "Jumping Mint" saves it later on simply due to its energy but unless you''re very open-minded or a big fan of minimalism you won''t find too much you like here.
This album is made up of remixes and live tracks. Idon`t like it as much as their other ones. It only cost mea dollar.
