Comments for Benatar, Pat, Innamorata

E-MAIL: EDRX7@AOL.com
Innamorata is perhaps the best work from Pat and her husband/lead guitar player Neil Giraldo. Without the forceful hand of outside influence, Pat and Neil have produced the music THEY wanted to record. You'll hear a more mature Pat, from a beautiful ballad with Papas Roses to the rockin' moves we've come to know her for. Pat proves she still has the power that put her on the charts. This is a MUST HAVE for any Pat fan, young or old.

I found this album rather weak, unfortunatelly. I always loved Pat''s music, but was disapointed with INNAMORATA. It shows the heavy influence of the ''acoustic rock'' trend in the 1990s, laced with even a little Celtic influence (the fiddle on "Only You"). Pat''s voice seems a little weaker than usual; the strong voice Pat has given on classics like "Shadows Of The Night" and "Love Is A Battlefield" is little evident here. The first four tracks after the pretty guitar intro are fine, "Only You", playful "River Of Love", emotional "I Don''t Wanna Be Your Friend", and "Strawberry Wine". After that I find the album seems to repeat itself and I find it little interesting. I''m really sorry how disapointed I was. However, those who like 1990s female-angst rockers would probably really like this album.
Pat Benatar`s newest recording after a long hitaus. Now recording on her own label, Ms. Benatar and her husband/producer Neil Giraldo turn in an excellent CD! Her best recording in years! Her voice has never sounded better! Daughter Gina sings the CD`s final track.
