Comments for Yes, The White AlbumE-MAIL: zmoq@ix.netcom.comm Not one of the better Yes "unauthorized" releases. The main part of this album was recorded in 1972, before Yes *really* had a handle on playing the material. The songs here suffer from hideous edits, and the sound is fairly shrill. "Gates of Delerium" is from a June 1975 show, recorded at a time when Yes was a little older, more confident, and simply a better live band. Even though the sound quality of "Gates" is not top-notch, this CD may be worth getting just for *this*, but bear in mind that "Gates" is better heard in the context of a more complete 1975/76 concert. Bottom line is: if you can find this for cheap, it''s ok, but hardly a good indication of Yes'' true abilities as a live act. Re-relaese on CD of the 1972 bootleg from the Fragile tour.Recorded 1972 at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. * Recorded 1975 at the Hollywood Bowl.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
