Long Live NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE!!
E-MAIL: tullpau@statcan.ca
I like this album. I will always remember this album. I drove from a fateful trip from Totonto to Otawa. During this trip the only tape that played was ZUMA. Yes six times of ZUMA. Frightful one might think, but considering the non-neil fans in the car were more frigthful. I at one time cared about this woman beside me in this car, but as all NEIL fans will be sure of, when the song stupid girl came on, as it did 6 or 7 times,my trip became bearable, amd to this day I know NEIL was right that she was a stupid girl.

This is a real sleeper from Neil. He's got that raw garage band flavor that works really well here. Cortez the killer...

There are few songs that make you scared to listen to because they are so good. This album contains three at least. Cortez, Dangerbird and Barstool Blues are amazing and this album would be his best until Rust.
Tracks 1-2, 4-8 - with Crazy Horse: rhythm guitar - Frank"Poncho" Sampedro (his first NY/CH album replacing the lateDanny Whitten), bass/vocals - Billy Talbot, drums/vocals -Ralph Molina.Track 3 - with Tim Drummond on bass, Talbot & Molina on vocals.Track 9 - with Crosby, Stills & Nash. Stills on bass, Russ Kunkel on congas.Young`s most under-rated album. Cortez the killer is one of his finest songs. Dangerbird and Barstool Blues are both on the new live album, Year Of The Horse (the versions on Zuma are far better, IMHO). Excellent songwriting, trademark Crazy Horse grooves and some terrific Young guitar solos make this disc amust-have for any serious Neil Young fan.
