Comments for Atomic Rooster, Atomic RoOosterE-MAIL: http://www.jo waiting...E-MAIL: revradio@hotmail.com Just picked this one up not too long ago on the reissue. I really loved "Death..." This one, however is interesting but doesn''t blow me away. I agree with the critique that there is really nothing groundbreaking here. The album has flashes of really great instrumentation, but at times is very uneven. The Crane-Hammond-Cann efforts blow this one out of the water. This album, representative of the first incarnation of the Rooster, betrays keyboardist Vincent Crane`s jazz tendencies and aspirations. Though nothing substantial or ground-breaking was done on the album (thus diquallifying it from being a true prog-rock album) it has some funky numbers and an overall harmonic quality. ELP fans take note of Palmer`s drum solo on Decline and Fall.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
