This album is exceptional, featuring all original materialby young Redman. Along with Brad Mehldau on piano, ChristianMcBride on bass, and Brian Blade on drums, Joshua Redmanproves himself to be not only his father`s son (dad DeweyRedman was himself a fine jazz artist), but also adescendant of Trane. He`s not quite up to Coltrane yet ...but Joshua Redman is still in his 20s. He has the time tocatch up, and if this effort is any indication, he`s wellon his way.
