Comments for Cold Water Flat, Cold Water Flat

Paul Janovitz is the brother of Buffalo Tom's Bill Janovitz. Cold Water Flat was named Best in Boston by Boston Magazine in 1995.

CWF sound quite a bit like Buffalo Tom, which has earned them some undeserved flak from people who think they''re trying to ride on that more-successful band''s coattails. This hardly strikes me as fair, for two reasons. First, the frontmen of the two bands are brothers, so it hardly seems surprising that there are going to be some musical similiarities. Second, and more important, Buffalo Tom have never produced an album with this kind of intensity. "Numb" and "Beautiful" in particular are just amazing. This will be the last CWF record with the current lineup, so it will be interesting where they go from here.
