Comments for Ronstadt, Linda, Get Closer

Linda's last real rock and roll album.

Mind you, I love Linda Ronstadt''s music. But this particular album is all or nothing in nature. Some tunes such as "Think It''s Gonna Work Out Fine", "Lies" and "Tell Him" are keepers. And "My Blue Tears" is an absolute work of art. But most of the other songs in this collection struggle to reach mediocrity. As a matter of fact, none of them reach it at all. Overall, I like this album. But it is not a classic, and not one of Linda''s best.

This may be Linda`s best; I feel it`s certainly hermost underrated. The benefits of her opera training are certainly noticeable here. The contrast between the first two tracks are amazing and when you throw in guest appearances by James Taylor, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Partonyou can`t beat this album!
