Comments for Close Lobsters, What Is There To Smile About

E-MAIL: mwestfal@kumc.edu
This is the album that KJHK in Lawrence,KANSAS used to play, every song on here has that killer guitar sound! "From This Day On" is my all time fave..Whenever I made tapes for friends, something by Close Lobsters would pop up on the compillation. The lyrics are kind of hard to decifer due to the Scotish accent. Yeah!! what ever happenned to these guys? Somebody let me know.. PLEASE They also have a song on a compilation The Great Fire Of London, and I think it's on Fire Records. I heard another song on KJHK by them in 1996, it was another good one! I called up the station cause I knew it was them and found out it came from aMidnight Records Comp. This record is a 10!

Still another consistently brilliant effort from these Scottish lads. Just a 6-song EP here but all tracks are filled with their trademark jangly/ringing Telecastersand/or Rickenbackers. Check out "From this day on". Oughtto be a classic. Too bad these guys` record label `Enigma`went under. They seem to have disappeared. As far as I know, this was their last work. Have been searching record stores in vain for years now hoping they`d pop up again but with no luck. Any information as to the whereabouts of these guys would be most welcome.
