Comments for John McLaughlin Trio, Live At The Royal Festival Hall

Nevermind the jazz label, there are several moods/feels/grooves in every track. Within minutes the styles range from a dreamy Latin feel to almost funk jazz/rock. The musicianship cannot be overstated, each musician has enormous talent and it`s obvious in this disc without being a head cutting contest.
Pasha's Love is aswesome! It is simply great. John Mclaughlin, in Pasha's Love, truly shows his guitar genius.

This is a phemomonal performance. The trio dymanics are brilliant. The soloing is flawless. But most of all, these 3 take rather complex musical tunes and styles execute them with world class virtuosity, yet never overshadow the 'music'. What I am left with after many many listenings, is a thrill at the ability of a trio to create a really BIG musical tapestry that unfolds with great energy and consistency.
