I completely disagree with the bottom comment made about the band. I think that you are missing the entire point of the band. They are energetic people who love to play music and have a good time making people feel good. They sound nothing like cypress hill and the Beastie Boys probably love the music 311 creates. They play a lot more instruments than the Beasties do. Don't get me wrong, because I love the Beastie Boys and I love 311. I can't say that I fully agree with your comment about the repetition either. I think that they really changed it up a lot on this last album. If you sit down and listen to all three you will see some comparisions in the guitar chord progression but not in the message each song puts forth. I think that you should listen to them some more before you continue to trash talk them.

Go out and buy "Music" instead. If you already have "Music", then go buy Shootyz Groove. I'm from Omaha and I can honestly say

another quality album form my homeyz 311 but i gotta agree with the guy who said they are getting a little repetitive. they keep trying to outdo themselves with each new album, which is good, except they keep trying to do the same thing. of they continue on this path then they peaked with grassroots.

Who the fuck do they think they are. They can't even sing. They are only Rage Against The Machine wannabes. These guys totally reek. If I went to one of their concerts I would probably have permanenet hearing damage. To give them some advice I have two words. GIVE UP!! I recently saw 311 at the Opium Den in Hollywood. It's a club that holds about 400 people. And I'll tell you, I haven't seen an entire audience jump up and fuckin' down like I did that night in a long time. 311 just has so much energy its amazing, and the audience picks it up totally. They are so tight, they are just a band that had no business playing in such a small place like that, but I'm glad they did. I wouldn't have wanted to see them anywhere else. Plus they were the only band on the bill, no opening act. Not bad.

311 does not have anything to do with the KKK. This is only a stupid rumor someone started. Watch the fucking video ('Enlarged To Show Detail') and you'll see this. The bands name comes from a police code for indecent exposure.

mcauburn is right. KKK has nothing to do with 311. 311 is actually the police code for indecent exposure. Watch "Enlarged To Show Detail," and you will find out that all of the band members (except SA) will say that KKK is not 311.

This one is ok but Music and Grassroots are better

Hexum apparently continued to improve in his role as rhythm guitarist on this album. The tracks are fast and tight, with driving guitar riffs and a solid drum background. However, being a bass player who judges albums mostly on it bass parts, I must say I was disappointed that P-Nut had a more subdued role here. P-Nut is the greatest funk bassist since Flea and should let his talent be heard on the level that Mahoney's guitar is. Otherwise, this album took the best things from "Music" and "Grassroots," put them in a blender, and kicked ass with what came out.

311 rules ass! those of u who think that they r repetitive have never listened to much of their music. u listen to 3 songs(down, all mixed up, and dont stay home), and u act like u know how their music goes. if u listen to all their cd''s u will see that there is a great difference between all of them. so dont go judging 311 by a few of their songs. listen to other songs like misdirected hostility, offbeat bare ass, salsa, unity, visit, electricity, just to name a few songs that r great but dont come over the radio. plz email me with ur views on 311.
