311 is the greatest band ever, they rock
E-MAIL: cher.8878
if anybody makes fun of 311 you will get hurt severely(:
311 kicks ass you guys are fags
311 has no album called this, u guys suck ass
This is their new record that's going to come out in July.
pearlbeater_17@hotmail.com
All 311 albums in the past have been nothing but fucking awesome so I'm really excited for Evolver to drop in stores. I expect it to kick much ass and without a doubt it will. Unity!!!
brettharalson@hotmail.com
311 hit their peak with grassroots as far as musical creativity goes.. I just hope they haven't adapted to the linkin park mentality, creatures (for a while) is teetering on that edge.. and I hope no one pushes them over.. 311 could be even greater than they are if they continue on the right path.
mentalhex@hotmail.com
i have to agree on the new creatures (for a while) song, its almost borderline suck ass made to be radio rock star song...311 is the greatest band ever, they just need to reconsider everything
tacosinc@rx-7.net
The only song I have listened to off of evolver(closly named to their favorite beatles album revolver)is creatures(for a while)and it is complex.I will explain, the harmonies are very close to beatles more so near the end.p-nut's bass playing is fantasic as always(almost as good as the music album).I shows they have Evolved as artists.I am a big 311 fan also a lead bass player,311 is still the best
pbjpb@yahoo.com
first i want to say i love 311 and they have influenced my life greatly. and their first five albums are practically flawless, with a few exceptions. but i started to notice a trend with soundsystem which continued to from chaos and got even worse. they are starting to sound like a bunch of fukkin pansies, especially hexum. he hardly ever raps anymore, there is no fire in his voice and all of his rhymes are fukkin weak. even his singing is starting to sound like gay R&B. SA is still the same though thank god. c'mon fellas, you're supposed to be a fusion of rap, reggae, rock and funk! wtf! i miss the old days of music grassroots and the blue album, even parts of transistor! these dudes better take their fukkin tampons out and start playing some REAL 311 tunes soon or they are finished.
5446@hotmail.com
pbjpb@yahoo.com- your an idiot, i think you might have nick and sa mixed up because nick is the same as always, the less sa, the better.
pbjpb@yahoo.com
hey 5446@hotmail.com, oh i'm an idiot huh? cuz i have a fuckin opinion? everyone knows nick is singing more and his raps are weaker. listen to plain on music, and then listen to the song from chaos. his raps are fuckin pathetic now! there's no fire in his voice and the songs don't groove as much anymore. i realize bands eventually run out of gas, and that's fine, it usually happens. but these dudes are capable of so much more and they are getting lazy.
jawn77@msn.com
Most of these comments are right..That's because most bands always kick ass on the 1st and second album because they do try extremely hard. But one thing I will congratulate them is that they became successful though underground popularity. You have to ask yourself who in the hell sounds like these guys..no one...people are out there trying to copy them. Most people do not like 311 at 1st listen when it comes to listening to a new album even if they are a fan..it takes some time..Damn! Everyone’s a critic...well let's see you do better.
pbjpb@yahoo.com
ok let me clarify, i'm not saying I can do better, i'm saying THEY can. they have played the most unique, original, tight and bangin music in the past and now it seems like they are just going through the motions. some of their newer songs lack real depth and they are just different now, you can tell if you really listen to them! hexum totally switched up his style, and the music is MUCH more 'light' now compared to their old shit. that's why their fans love them, cuz they (used to) put it out there hardcore! they need to wake up from this fuckin gayness they're in and bring back the old fire.
acflandry@hotmail.com
Listen everybody. 311 is such an incredible band because they can create numerous styles of music. Over the years their music has obviously gotten different but it is still extremely original. Anyone who plays, writes, or has a good knowledge about music understands that over time someone's musical taste and writing style will change some, but will still have much of the old style. What I'm trying to say is that if 311 tried to recreate Music, it wouldn't be as good and it would be boring to hear 311 recreate all of their original stuff. It is much more exciting to hear them evolve. Some may prefer their old stuff to their newer music, but 311 can't please everyone, and most importantly THEY DON'T HAVE TO!! They are creating music that they love and that they think their fans will love.
pbjpb@yahoo.com
no it is not more 'exciting' to see them totally change their style. the reason people like them is cuz they love the music they played before. why would a fan of one style want to hear a different style of music? and that's not even the real issue. it's that they are not putting as much effort into the songs anymore. the albums are shorter, the songs have more singing and less lyrics and the grooves in them don't flow as much. the real problem i think is mostly Nick though rather than the other members. he gays out all of the songs now with his new R&B voice, and he has lost that edge he had on the first 3 and half albums. he has described their music as 'positvely aggressive', well what happened to the aggressive part huh? he must have had some kind of life changing experience or something. anyways, the other fuckin dudes better tell him to take off the damn skirt before he ruins their career.
sweet2thz@hotmail.com
311.. what's there to say. They've taken so many different styles of music and jammed them into some great albums. I'm hoping that their upcoming one will be just as sweet. They're by far the best live band out there. They've come original, and will be sure to stay that way. -leah
PETER
I heard their new hit "Creatures (For A While)" like around May or June 2003. I heard "Whoa, Amber is the color of your energy" sometimes. I heard those songs on KROQ.
A gay person who likes 311
Loco Punk, huh?
to gay person
yeah you prolly only like 311's new pansy shit you fuckin homo.
Jpck@yahoo.com
First of all, to say that 311 isn't trying anymore after they delayed the release of their new album to ensure that it was as good as it could be, is rediculous. 311 has been making unbelievable music for well over 10 years so it is only natural that there sound is going to change and evolve. I don't know about you pbjpb but i love 311 for the many different styles they are able to play and do a damn good job of it. So if you just want 1 style and nothing else than 311 isn't the band for you.
Fuck my email. my name is Joe... and listen up.
I've listened to 311 basically since my freshman year and I onyl came here because I noticed a song called 'Coda' was added to the bill for Evolver. To the one who said that hexum needs to start rapping again.. Hexum didn't hit his peak rapping until Life's Not a Race and Come Original anyway... before that it was out of place and style.... and Soundsystem is the PERFECT album for that... and although From Chaos is a little less blended as Soundsystem was.. it was still a very very decent album.. and I enjoy it quite alot.. but it just seems like it wasn't complete... they should have added Bomb the Town, Will the World, and Dreamland to the album.. and rewritten We Do It Like This... not to mention Soundsystem could have used Seal the Deal, and Dancehall.. because Cali Soca and Dancehall are both much better than 'Livin and Rockin' and 'Mindspin'. Creatures for a while made me nervous at first.. but when I heard it on the radio it sounded amazing. They grow lyrically every album, and now they are at the peak of their talents... I can't believe you beg these people to go back to an 'original style' when their style is adapatation and roots... don't be selfish and petty. Evolver is going to be ILL AS FUCK. come check me out @ www.rapflava.com/forums under the name Sever
pbjpb
alright YOU listen to ME you fuckin pussies. don't tell me what i know about 311, i have almost every single song they have ever recorded, on or off albums, and most with several versions. yes i know bands are supposed to 'evolve' over time...but only for the better. so i'm not talking about the different sound they have now per say, i'm talking about their effort and the originality. and to Jpck@yahoo.com, I’m not saying they only have ONE style you douche bag, they have many that's why they’re so great. i'm talking about the overall style of mixing different TYPES of music, duh. anyways, to Joe, nick’s raps used to flow on old songs like juan bond, and albums like music, grassroots, the blue album and parts of transistor and soundsystem. even though he sang mostly on transistor (an experimental record like Evolver is supposed to be), most of the songs flowed too. but listen to the song 'starshines'. he kicks ASS with his rap in it. it's an original fast/slow combination that works with the groove (SA's is pretty tite too but that's a given). all of his raps on from chaos were weak as SHIT cheese and most were really slow, like some 3 year old wrote them...a sign of laziness. most of the songs didn't really have that GOOD 311 uniqueness either, except for maybe sick tight uncalm. all the rest were just your basic run of the mill radio format. what happened to the off-beat format like with the song 'grassroots' huh? it's DEAD now cuz they are either running out of ideas or just getting lazy. Creatures For Awhile PROVES THIS. so all of you faggots who say his new style and 311's music still has the same QUALITY that it did the first 3 and half albums, really listen to them and compare and you will see what i mean.
spastfunk@aol.com
im missing something, since when did "coda" appear on the cd? ive been following the whole production of the album and have never once heard about the song "coda".
evolver will be awesome
bitter "old school" fans suck. 311's new stuff is better than ever. creatures for a while is a songwriting gem, those who bash it know little about creating music.
word
to say that 311 (nick especially) is getting lazy is wrong. singing and creating melodies and harmonies takes more talent that rapping. from what ive heard theyve put more effort into the new cd than any other album (hence the delay of its release).
joey
yeah i like all of 311's stuff but the reason they delayed the record is cuz they fuct up some of the songs. nick and tim said most of the songs came out kinda shitty the first time and they wanted to put more of that unique 311 sound into them. so hopefully they fixed everything cuz that would blow major dickage if their music sounded all gay and shit now ya know?
vaginaface@nowhere.com
Don't mess with this album.
nope@nope.com
You guys must be fuckin morons if you don't think that that new tune Creatures sounds like a bunch of whining pussies. I'm sure that is fine with you guys....in fact, it is your anthem. I am not a bitter old 311 fan. I've listened to them since 95, but when they started changing their style to target the gay ass community, I tuned out. I still love their old shit. I check out all the new albums (via download), and find out that they suck, so I don't buy them. Hopefully there is some better shit on this album and it isn't all lame shit. I've seen tons of 311 shows with happy mosh pits and it has always been a good time. Last time it was a lame ass bunch of 17 year old girls chanting Amber (not that I have ANYTHING against 17 yo girls...grrr), but it lacked that energy. Anyway, I still love 311 and hope they stop smoking so much pot, or smoke more pot, or whatever it is that will get them to stop making such whinny ass faggoty lame shit.
nop@nope.com
Hey....actually it seems that Nick understand my comments. In fact, they are part of his whinny ass song.....Just for the record Nick, your shoes ain't that bad. You got a pretty nice life! Stop bitchin and make a song boy... I know what you we’re gonna say But were afraid to cause dismay You’re lyrics switched around The mixture watered down And now a pointless display AMEN!!!!
pbjpb
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! someone ACTUALLY sees what i mean about nick and the rest of 311's new GAY-ASS style. thank you nope@nope.com, you hit the nail right on the head. they are sounding just like a bunch of fuckin pansy ass queers and they need to get their fuckin asses in gear SOON..or they are finished! period.
You guys are forgetting that it has been over 10 years since MUSIC was released and that 311's true fans from that era have grown and their music tastes have matured. 311's music has matured along with their fans. I've been a huge fan ever since MUSIC and I love everything they've done, but I'm now 27 years old and don't find myself blaring MUSIC or GRASSROOTS that often. I now prefer the new, more mature sounds of 311 songs such as AMBER, CHAMPAGNE, I'll BE HERE AWHILE to name a few. I can only hope 311 will continue maturing their sound as they and their true fans get older.
nope@nope.com
I just wanted to add one more little comment/disclaimer to my past comments. One, I have nothing against gay ass queer shit. Everyone can do whatever the fuck they want...."Do what thou will should be the whole of the law until you violate the rights of another". Yes Nick, if you want to make gay ass tunes, that is fine with me.... Comment/Disclaimer #2 is that I honestly don't think that the whole band sucks now. SA has always had lame ass lyrics "yo chad sniff my finger man", but they have always been a good comic relief to Nicks more serious, profound, and wise lyrics. So, SA is just doing his same old thing...which is fine. In fact, I like the fact that he has brought in some interesting influences into the musc. It is cool that he scratches now and then, but he does suck as a dj.

Chad and Tim still fucking rock...in fact, I feel bad for them. Tim is such a fuckin good guitar player that it is sad that his insanely perfect shit is backed up with queer ass whinny vocals.

So in summary, when I say that 311's shit sounds gay or queer, I am not insulting the gay or queers out there....I am just insulting Nick. He has brought this band down. His lyrics suck. His singing sucks. He doesn't rap anymore.

For someone that in my mind once had prophet status, he has sure gone down to a low place. Although pot is cool sometimes, I think he smoked away his creativity. Hopefully the rest of the songs on this album don't suck.

You never know...maybe this lame creatures shit is something designed to draw attention to the band like "down". Remember, that album was awesome overall, but that song was really commercial...

Anyway, one more last comment....Nicks lame ass old shit actually used to be good....remember 8:16 am? That was a lame romantic song, but it rocked and had meaning....

This new shit is "oh, I have such a hard life as a rock star. You don't think I am good anymore, but you don't understand because you are not me. Can't my old fans come back and buy my shit so I can smoke more crack...ehem...I mean weed."

And I quote:
I know what you we’re gonna say But were afraid to cause dismay You’re lyrics switched around The mixture watered down And now a pointless display

It’s something one won’t understand Unless there in it with me hand and hand

Don’t buy the fear don’t buy that my dear The things you love you must keep near

PEACE!
pbjpb
ok who added this fuckin bullshit to my post: "You guys are forgetting that it has been over 10 years since MUSIC was released and that 311's true fans from that era have grown and their music tastes have matured. 311's music has matured along with their fans. I've been a huge fan ever since MUSIC and I love everything they've done, but I'm now 27 years old and don't find myself blaring MUSIC or GRASSROOTS that often. Case in point: look at the video for amber, then look at the video for Homebrew. you would think they are two completely different bands! and i'm pissed at tim and chad for LETTING nick do this to them. SA’s a fuckin weirdo and in his own world, he doesn't count. but p-nut i think is leaning toward the 'gay' side as well (from what i hear in his interviews). so anyways, all you people who love their new shit are not REAL 311 fans…just think about it, if you were, then you would like the ORIGINAL shit that is totally different, and the unique sound that brought you to this band in the first place.
Boy some of you bitter old pot heads that think you're fucking clinging to something original piss me the fuck off.... Point blank.. Soundsystem is their best album.. Dancehall, Seal the Deal, Cali-Soca, Blizza, Next, plus the thirteen official tracks beat any other 311 session senseless... I would agree grassroots is the second best 311 album.. and although 311 blue album is a bit more mainstream.. sometimes Transistor is a bit better. Music is probably the least frequent in my player now, and I played From Chaos out.. but when Evolver comes out I think From Chaos will be more popular as all the focus will be taken off of it.
and to the dumbass that says their lyrics have been brought down? Grassroots and to a lesser extent, the 311 album were pretty sound.. but Soundsystem is the best album out of all 6, lyrically. Creatures for a while is not a gay song.. it DID take me a LONG time to get into it, at first I was nervous, but I heard it on the radio, and I'm waiting for it.. I'm just really nervous for this album since the cover is so ugly lol.
sorry didn't add my name.

Hey pbjpb, you say "we like 311 cuz of all the shit they played before, i'd say in total about 5 solid albums worth including omaha sessions and unreleased stuff until Soundsystem". Speak for yourself. As I said before, 311 have matured and so have their true old school fans. Maybe if you weren't so IMMATURE then you would be able to enjoy and understand the evolved 311 sound.
nope@nope.com
HAHAHAHAHA.....I got you now!!!

"and to the dumbass that says their lyrics have been brought down?"

Well my friend.....that dumbass would be Nick Hexum. What I typed was word for word the lyrics from this lame song "Creatures". Nick is trying to make fans like me understand him....he wants me to buy their shit.
Read carefully fool:

Your lyrics switched around
The mixture watered down
And now a pointless display
It’s something one won’t understand
Unless there in it with me hand and hand
- Nick Hex

Nick is being a whinny pussy...He proves it right there. I am supposed to feel bad for him. Fuck that. He smokes too much pot. He needs to focus.

Also, if you are going to post, it would be nice to not post right in someone elses post. You're an asshole too.

Jump up and down cuz that's the 311......oh wait, I don't want to jump cuz their shit sucks now.
pbjpb
yeah thanks for posting in my message AGAIN, you fuckin DOUCHE. anyways, soundsystem BLOWS as a whole, there are maybe 2-3 decent songs on it, some are even partial songs. nick has a damn tampon in the entire time on from chaos and it gets even worse on the song creatures. i mean that part where they go: "Comes and goes it comes and goes" i cringed when i heard that. nick, you were always a tad effeminate, but now you've completely gone over the edge. you can take your new fuckin pansy R&B, whinny, junvinile, WEAK ass bullshit lyrics and blow them out your ass.
311 owns your souls
wow, so listen to these couple guys go back and forth on here and talk shit on 311. you definitely are a bunch of bitter fans, and its kind of annoying to hear you go on and on about it. although i can kind of understand where you're coming from sometimes. however, i dont share the same point of view as you guys. i think their old shit rocked, and their new shit is real hot too... you just gotta face it that bands change their styles throughout the years and if you're a fan, then you'd feel just as i do right now(that 311 is the best band out there, i will love their music for life). and if you're not a fan, then you're just one of those people that comes and goes and we dont really give a fuck about what you have to say, and we especially dont care to read it posted and reiterated over and over on these forums. but hey, we all got opinions, right? anyway, 311 4 life and i'm betting this new album will kick ass just like all their previous ones have when they've came out. i will be at the stores to buy it the second it comes out. and to the bitter "fans" (because they really werent fans to begin with huh), "misdirected hostility, thats what you got see". go take it out somewhere else. peace
i agree
yes 311 COULD be the best band out there, but nick is definitely fuckin it up for them. and ya know what, i hate people that stick by something even though it has changed for the worse. why? why praise a band and buy their album if you think it sucks? cuz you liked the bands OLD shit? oh and you're not a REAL fan if you don't like every fuckin song they put out huh. please...motherfucker we don't care what YOU think asshole. if 311 wiped thier asses with a CD you'd probably still buy it so shut the fuck up. their shit sucks now, its TOTALLY different from the music they put out every year for about 7 years straight. now the last 3 or 4 years have been nothing but bullshit, thanks to nick. thanks nick! oh and people who don't buy into this new mainstream bullshit 311 puts out have 'misdirected hostilities' huh...nice quote, you're just as gay as nick is.
Just listened to it
so i just got a copy of Evolver...and ahhh I have to say it isnt their best cd. I have been a fan since the old days of Unity and dammit, good ol midwest rock scene, and this is the wierdest shit they have come up with. Its one of those cds you have to listen and listen to to make yourself like it. Unfortunately I dont agree with the direction they are going.
nope@nope.com
Alright...sorry for having so many bitter posts. I have decided that I will hold further comments until I hear the rest of the new album. I can't seem to get it off of Kazaa. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be back.

Peace!
surfobx1@aol.com
LIsten Guys. I have Evolver now and this is one of the best albums ever put out. There is so much melody, harmony, and complexity. Every song blows From Chaos out of the water. Every band member has equal parts on this album. Tim has amazing solos. To me, this is their best. Music and Grassroots were amazing to me. This has joined them. If i listen to them side by side which i have, The songs are so much better written on evolver and the innovation is still there. This is not just another 311 album. This stands alone.
murrdock311@hotmail.com
To all of those who bash on 311, "Don't waste life being hateful" like Nick said himself. He is nearly a God himself. Hell, I worship the damn band. I listen to them almost everyday and there's no getting sick of them. I agree with a few of you who said that SOUNDSYSTEM is the best album. I love every album just the same after that. 311 has evolved from underground rap to a band for everyone who will still enjoy full out rockers to melodic gems. Everyone should be pumped for Evolver because it kicks ass. I won the CD from a local radio station before it came out. Every single track kicks ass. Be sure to check out the hidden track, it is dope. UNITY!!!
adammoore311@aol.com
I've read alot of mindless comments so far on this BB. I don't understand how some of you can call yourselves "true" 311 fans when all you do is complain about how they have changed. Personally, I think their "evolution" is awesome. How many bands are creative enough to change styles on almost every album, and still be successful? I also assume that their new album "Evolver" was named in part because they have evolved since their first album. I also don't think that 311 has gotten 'lazy', they're all in their late 30's and still rocking the hell out of venues. I've been to countless concerts, and 311 still puts on the most energetic, original, and positive concerts out there. Creatures (For a while) is a bad ass song, and I can't wait to see them this weekend in Indy & Chicago and hear their entire new album. Im not here to argue with anyone, but damn, if you're a true 311 fan you would love every style that they have evolved into- I have many favorite songs off of every one of their albums. In the meantime keep rockin' and keep up the positivity!
yeah ok
hey adammoore311@aol.com, what's the definition of successful? commercially viable? that's fuckin bullshit..they have always made music 'against the grain' and have even put anti-radio, anti-sellout and anti-maintstream lyrics in their songs (like those in omaha stylee and plain, for two of many examples) now they put out gay shit like amber and creatures. what a huge sham. what happened to them? it's like they grew huge vaginas and gave in to volcano's push for them to make 'hits' well that's flat out RETARDED. and they are the biggest bunch of fuckin hypocritical lying sack of shits i have ever seen now. and i put 90% of that blame on nick. you fuckin prick! the other dudes should have smaked him around a bit three years ago before they got into this whole mess. now it might be too late.
STFU
Wow, there's a lot of hate here. Ironic, coming from so-called fans of a band that preaches tolerance and unity. Here's something some of you obviously haven't realized yet - no one cares about your opinions. You're living in the past and living in denial that people might actually still enjoy 311. You have come to this realization sooner or later; I mean, after all, the most suitable environment you've found to spew your childish negativity is some half-assed no-name anonymous bulletin board. That should be a flashing neon "Get a Clue" sign for you. In summary: - You are unimportant - No one cares about your views - 311 has evolved; you have not - You desperately need to expand your vocabulary - Please do not reproduce
adammoore311@aol.com
I just have a few more things to say about some of these other jackass comments that have come about since my post. 311 is about unity- they wouldn't exist without all of their band members. To say that Nick is ruining it for everyone is a false understatement. They are a 'unified' band, so they must agree on everything before it was released. All of you naysayers obviously havn't read shit on the 311 website about the album "Evolver", each member has had their own input in atleast one or more songs in the album- this again goes against the statement that Nick is ruining it for the band. Also, how many bands have been around as a fully functional group, without any breakups or deaths as long as 311? Not many- and what I mean by successful, is just that, a kick ass band, with kick ass talent, and a kick ass mentality. All of you negative BB-posters on this page would never last 1/100000th as long as 311 has in the music industry, and still stay true to their fans. It's impossible nowadays to not "sell out" and still be where 311 is today. In my eyes, and many other fans- 311 has always been the same, their sound has just evolved with the times, and for the better- I'll listen to 311 til' I die. Fuck you naysayers 'cause you don't mean a thing. Post on another board with people who give a shit what you fucks have to say. Peace.
you're both dipshits
ohhhh but and everyone cares what YOU have to say right??? who are you, hitler? only your opinion matters??? give it up buddy. and you're the one who brought up tolerence..i think you should read your post again. and to the other guy, ya know you wrote something last post that totally denies your point, and i quote,'It's impossible nowadays to not "sell out" and still be where 311 is today.' oh really??? so THAT's what they're doing huh! great, now i KNOW for sure they're a bunch of fuckin souless hypocrite sellouts, thanks for the information. and about unity, yeah i know it's a group effort which is why i'm so annoyed with the other band members. they LET nick sing like a fuckin pansy and do nothing about it..that's my whole point you fuckin douche. anyways, new the album drops today so let's see if the nick finally grew a sack...my bet is no.
STFU
I didn't say my opinion was worth anything more than yours is. All I'm saying is that our lives are worth a lot more than yours. We are happy to be alive and we're full of positivity, while you seem to be satisfied spewing hate with the thought process of a third grader. You are a troll, and a bad one at that.
STFU is a huge tool
ok first of all, i do not 'hate' anyone..i am simply disgusted with some of the members of 311 lately. i respect their musical ability and their talent, and i still believe they COULD be the best band alive. but they are not the best band for the reasons i stated before. now to address your comments, first of all how can you say you're life is worth anymore than anyone elses? cuz you can't respect another person's opinion? i can say whatever the fuck i want, whenever i want, however i want, and as a 311 fan, i can say it here. oh and i have a third grader's mentality huh? ok so you're resorting to insulting my intelligence now, great move dude, just a tell tale sign of your frustration. anyways you can blow it all out your ass, i'm done proving my point. i listened to the new album today and it's even more worthless than from chaos is. have a fun time convincing yourself they're still a great band.

Alright everyone....as promised, I held further comments until I listened to the whole album.

I just finished listening from the beginning to end straight and I am siting here in disbelief. Why the hell did I waste so much of my time on this band???? Since fucking 1995 I have been listening to 311. When they started going downhill, I thought "hey, everyband makes shitty albums sometimes (except the beatles), maybe the next one will be good".

But honestly....look at this board. Look at the fights we are having on here. It is total chaos. There is no more UNITY! Nick and crew fucking turned their backs on their fans.

Honestly, this shit is going to make people violent. If I were a fuckin thug and ended up at a 311 show and listened to some of this shit, I would start crackin skulls.

Look....do me a big fucking favor before you start calling me stuck in the past or someone that hasn't "evolved". Get out your old 311 albums. For those of you that are really into this album, you can find old 311 stuff on the net. Try Kazaa or BearShare.

Now, do as follows. Listen to Offbeat Bare Ass....feel that energy. Feel their passion about their views. Now, as soon as you are done, put on that track "Sometimes Jack's Rule the Realm". You will see what the fuck we are all bitching about real quick.

Honestly, this shit sounds like doowop or something.

Musically, I do give them tons of credit. I think this album is top notch in terms of melody, changes, etc....Holy shit, that track Beyond the Gray Sky is kick ass melodically but the vocals suck.

Here's what needs to happen. Chad, Tim, and even P-Nut should get together and form a new band. They can call it 312, 420, 7-11...whatever.

I'll sing and rap if they want. Shit, I can even cover old 311 songs.

Peace out! This band is just backstabbing motherfuckers who are trying to make a quick dollar.

hi
311 rules. I hate old school fans. fuck you all. 311 is 10 years older than they were on Music. Evolver is the greatest album ever!
why evolver...
...is only for girls and gays. 311 have always put a mixture of songs and musical styles on every album previous to evolver. there was funk, metal, jazz, rap, punk and reggae tracks or parts of tracks. everyone knows this. but on evolver, it's just straight up mainstream alt-rock on almost every song. you say you don't want to them to sound the same? almost every song (except for the acoustic ones) on evolver does! they abandoned their unique 311 formula. it sounds like a fuckin cheesy ass goo goo dolls or third eye blind album. for one example, nick's voice sounds so effeminate on 'seems uncertain' it's pathetic. who cares if he's older or 'evolved' now, does that mean he has to sound like a fuckin queer? so the only people who should like this album are girls and gay dudes. if you're a man and have any sack at all you will pass this cd to your teenage sister.
STFU
I assign less value to the life of anyone that spends their time angry, bitter, and shitting on artists' work. You aren't doing anything to improve things around you; you're just trying to bring others down to satisfy yourself. That makes you a parasite, and like most parasites, you're worth less than a human being. Now I can respect the fact that your opinion is that 311 sucks, but I have zero respect for your childish name-calling temper tantrums. "I can say whatever the fuck i want, whenever i want, however i want": spoken like a true third-grader. Grownups realize that actions have consequences, and the consequence of your little rant is that no one cares what you think. "as a 311 fan": No, you're not a 311 fan so stop kidding yourself. You're a fan of the musical style that they used to play 6-10 years ago. Now that they've moved on, you think they suck. That's your opinion and that's fine, but don't insult true 311 fans by counting yourself among us. You were only a fan when they played the musical style you want to hear. "I'm done proving my point.": you were done proving your point after the first post. The reason your first post was so hate-filled and the reason you keep coming back are both because you're looking for a fight. You should have quit while you were ahead.
again...
hi douche bag! i mean STFU...again, who are you to say no one cares what i or anyone else thinks. who are YOU, god? i would think real 311 fans have TOLERANCE of one another's opinions. i'm not bashing yours am i? i'm not tell you to go away am i? like i said, all i'm doing is explaining my opinion. i see several other people here share that same opinion as well. you seem to have a problem with that. maybe you should listen more closely to 311's 'new' music. it's the quality and effort, NOT the style of music that sucks. they make run-of-mill bullshit songs like every other gay band on the radio today. i mean you must be borderline retarded if you haven't figured that out by now.
nope@nope.com
Hey...you know what? This website is not associated with 311. It is not a 311 fanclub. It openly welcomes everyone's comments. When you go to write a comment here, right above the text box it says "Your comments for Evolver". It does not say "bend over for Nick".

So guess what? If you have a big problem with negative comments or an open dialogue, go somewhere else! :)

whoever wrote this is probably a sexually frustrated person who doesn't know good music if it was right in their face. 311 is one of the best bands in music and has done alot more than the homophobic person that wrote that track listing. The person who made that track listing probably sits in their room and masterbaits to naked pictures of richard simmons. Well let me tell them something please stay in your room and never come out again. I don't care what you do just don't talk bad about 311 again. 311 livin and a rockin.........peace
the jerm
when bands stick to their roots they DIE (see the band formerly known as metallica). 311 has grown up. deal with it.
steve3872@aol.com
what? are you stupid jerm? 311 is doing exactly what metallica did a few years ago. metallica totally changed their style into 'alternative rock' instead of sticking with metal and ended up pissing all their fans off. 311 is doing the same type of thing and the backlash is just starting. you deal with it fuckhead.
lets be civil
ok guys, lets relax.. first let me just say i saw 311 yesterday at the rolling rock townfair in pittsburgh, and many people that were there will say that 311 was their favorite performance. they just straight up rock the house.. it was awesome. and no, they didnt play tons of stuff off evolver(only 2 songs), which was a good thing because they only got in 10 or 11 songs. but it was great to see them play stuff off of every album, and when you see a band do that, you get to see all their styles throughout the years. now i know some of you really hate some of the turns they've made throughout the years, but honestly i love all of their albums. i'll be honest though, as of right now evolver is my least favorite, but almost every time they've came out with one it has taken me a little time to get used to it. but creatures for a while is a great song, and a couple other cools ones on it i think are crack the code and give me a call. also, reconsider everything was cool when they played it yesterday. i guess we'll give the evolver album some time because i'm already starting to like it more each time i listen to it. if you think i'm a "girl" or a "pussy" or whatever for liking some of their newer stuff, then grow up.. because i love the music and grassroots albums too, and why cant all us 311 fans out there appreciate each song and musical style they bring to their albums. (but if people dont appreciate their "evolution" throughout the years, then thats alright, we all got our tastes. no reason to blow up on this forum though, because they still are the same bunch of guys who know how to bring a crowd to life as they showed yesterday by playing lots of their good older stuff...down, feels so good, freak out, applied science, all mixed up, unity, beautiful disaster, etc. ) my apologies if this post was too long and pointless for some people, but yes.. 311 is aweomse
the jerm
this childish aggression is exactly what 311 is getting away from. go home and listen to your new alternative hate music.

Please, don't mess with this album!
