Comments for Wright, Richard, Identity (By ZEE)

Zee was a short-lived band consisting of Richard Wright of`Pink Floyd` and Dave Harris of `Fashion`. Not available onCD, this title is probably out of print.

I think, this album was a bold attempt by Rick Wright, who along with Harris experimented with a new kind of sound, that was not at all a derivative of any kind of music the former made when he was with Pink Floyd. A Pink Floyd fan who hasn't heard Identity would probably expect something similar to Floyd's prevous works, and going ahead and listening to Identity with this attitude probably brings a little astonishment & dissappointment. What one hears here is 'beaty' rhythmic synthetic (barely any acoustic or natural instrument)music in all the tracks, which seem to have taken the upper hold over melody, vocal performance and a broad orchestra. However, one cannot deny that the lyrics (not released officially) are quite impressive. This Record/ cassette is out of Production and the CD eas never reseased by EMI/ Harvest Records. However I do possess a CD of Zee Identity (Printed CD with coverart) of all the original 8 tracks that were released on the LP +3 additional tracks, 1 out of 3 was an additional track on the cassette, and the remaining 2 are bonus extended and dub versions of 2 the main 8 tracks.
