Comments for Rainbow, Rainbow Rising

This is the origin of heavy metal. After this, kids start to play fast drums, speedy guitar licks, rough vocals with quite meaningless lyrics .... this is the Genesis of heavy metal. But I like it!!! And that guy who clones Blackmore, rocks like him, but tries to play faster than him and if Blackmore can sing, I think he'll try it too.

in my opinion this is rainbow''s masterpiece of an album, featuring some of the hottest drumming ever heard done by cozy powell. all in all this album is the stuff which heavy metal was born.

This album clinched a place in rock history for Rainbow. No longer just an extension of Deep Purple, Rainbow found a new sound with Stargazer and A Light in the Black. Many were the times as a dumb youngster back in the '70's that I came in stoned from heavy partying in the evening and put on my headphones and spaced out to Stargazer...
