Comments for Rainbow, Long Live Rock-N-RollE-MAIL: tkorpela@niksula.hut.fi More versatile than its predecessor Rising, this album features the guitar playing of Blackmore on it''s finest. Highlights include Lady Of The Lake, the headbanging classic Kill The King, beautiful ballad Rainbow Eyes and the breathtaking prototype for progressive and neo-classical metal, Gates Of Babylon. Although Rising is *the* classic because of its conceptuality, this is not any worse!dwalker64@msn.com On their first foray into the studio after Rising, Rainbow continues with the neo-classical sound of Stargazer with the similar sound of Gates of Babylon. The influence of Ronnie James Dio is quite prevalent here, but Ritchie Blackmore wanted to go a different direction, so after this album Dio left (or was dismissed) and the sound changed with the next album. If you are a Rainbow fan, a Blackmore fan, or a Dio fan, definitely get this album. The fusion of Blackmore and Dio is fantastic, and this was the last album (save Finyl Vinyl) that it was heard. The band is: Ritchie Blackmore (git, b), Ronnie James Dio (voc), Cozy Powell (dr), David Stone (k) and Bob Daisley(b). Bob Daisley also played in the band with Gary Moore.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
