Comments for Wings, Back to the Egg

I guess I''m not suprised that I''m alone in commenting on this album! I also will admit that, although I am in the minority, this is one of my favorite McCartney albums. He does a tremendous job of just right-down rocking out! It''s a direction he hasn''t really gone in a long time, and I wish he would. Note, however, that I say that PAUL really rocks out on this album. You see, I suppose there is a reason that this album wasn''t received well, but that reason, in my view, wasn''t Paul or his performance. The reason this album is not up to par is DENNY LAINE. Yeesh! His songs are definitely the low points on ANY Wings album. But, like all McCartney fans, I guess I''m spoiled by Paul''s partnership with Lennon. However, I encourage any Paul fan to give this album a listen - Paul''s rockers on this collection are the finest!
This was the last Wings album, and one of McCartney`s most genuinely rockin` albums. Ironically, it may be one of the least remembered McCartney works as it was released in the midst of the disco craze in the U.S. Only a couple of songs were actually hits from this album: Arrow Through me is probably the most recognizable song on the album. Old Siam Sir shows that Paul could really break some guitar strings when he wanted to.... a really great gritty performance.Another notable song is Daytime Nightime Suffering, a melodic and catchy track that Linda McCartney lists as one of her personal favorites.Members of the final Wings lineup: Paul and Linda (of course); Denny Laine on guitar and vocals; Steve Holly on drums, and Laurence Juber on guitar.
