The quintessential R&B soundtrack album. Some of the industry's finest female soul singers are featured, and to great effect. All three of Whitney's songs soar; Toni Braxton, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, and SWV are also given superior material. Only Faith Evan's tepid ballad "Kissing You" could have been left out...besides being a mediocre song, Evans is outclassed in this pack. A great CD.

If one was going to start into the realm of modern R&B, this would be a great place to start. It has so many of the faces (female) of modern R&B and soul: teen star Brandy with the nice and easy "Up In My Room", Whitney Houston, CeCe Winans, the girl-group SWV, sensuous-voiced Toni Braxton, and who could forget the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin. A strong album, all songs written by one of modern R&B's main drivers, Babyface. Also features terrific selections by Chaka Khan and Faith Evans. Houston's "Shoop Shoop" went to #1.
