Comments for Zebra, Zebra

Zebra was one of the most underated bands in the 80's. Their main influences Led Zep & Yes to name a few. The voice of Robert Plant can be heard all over this record. Not only in just the voice, but int he music as well. Randy Jackson's riffs will seem quite familiar to Zep fans. Pick these albums up because they are now out of print, so what's out there is all there is. Sit back and program your cd player to songs 1,2,5, & 7. And I promise you will be hitting the REPEAT ALL button.

Zebra is/was an excellent band. As far as I can tell, there were four records released. The debut, Zebra, No Tellin' Lies, 3.V, and Live in 1990. The only one available now, is Zebra on compact disc. Highly recommended. No Tellin' Lies is almost as good, while 3.V is boring and almost every song sounds the same. The Zebra Live is worth picking up for interest only, and if you really like live albums. The songs do not stray from their studio versions.

I saw Zebra over 100 times in the late '' 70s and early 80''s and as i die hard Zep fan who never got to see Zep I can tell you all this band was the real deal. Randy Jackson was superhuman-doing both page and plant to perfection. In the late 70''s they had quite a rivalry with Twisted Sister out on Long Island but it was like comparing Kiss to Zep-sorry but different leagues. Cant quite figure out why they didnt make it. They were undoubdtedly the most impressive band u ever saw in a bar. I guess their timing was bad. They got swallowed up by the punk -death to 70''s rock movement of the the early 80''s. They still play and if anyone can tell me how to find their schedule let me know. .

I never see them around (cd's or cassette) but I do have the 1st vinyl album (Zebra). But, no recorded player. Sure would like to listen to it again.
