Comments for Slade, Play It Loud

E-MAIL: aleonard@neo.lrun.com
Like many of the rock albums in the early seventies, Play It Loud was severely influenced by the Beatles, although quite a bit heavier. "Dapple Rose" stands out as a classic ballad. Produced by Chas Chandler.

Not so rock n' roll oriented as their other albums. But i think it mabye is their best album, though. (I don't think so many Slade fans agree with me on that).

A very good album with some classic tracks such as "Pouk Hill'', ''One Way Hotel'' and my personel favourite Skinhead anthem from 1969 ''See Us Here''. As a Slade Fan who discovered the band very late in 1980 at 14 years old this album was very confusing as to who or what this band were all about! Apart from ''Know Who You Are'' I think it is a superb EARLY album of the band and for fans only.
