Comments for Slade, Slade Alive!

Fine words by the above reviewer. This really is one of those all time great live albums. Apart from KISS the southern american rockers BLACKFOOT were big fans of this particular piece of vinyl, and have been quoted as saying this was a must play before they went onstage themselves to get them in the mood! Indeed it does sound like it is recorded in a pub (albeit a large one), but the energy level from the band is immense. Play this as loud as you can during "Born To Be Wild" and enjoy the best version of this song ever. The Cult could only dream of matching this!
Awsome live album. Sounds like it was recorded in a packed bar. More than any other Slade disc, this album truly shows off their talents, not only their ability to play, but their fantastic harmony. Their cover of the Lovin` Spoonful`s "Darling Be Home Soon" could make Spoonful fans out of any serious rocker. From soft and full of emotion to ripping rock, this is a must for Slade fans. Another great cover, is their version of Steppenwolf`s "Born To Be Wild". Again, the infuence on bands like Kiss is obvious here. Notice the title. Kiss also had an Alive! album a few years later.
