All the Dream Academy albums are out of print as of this date. There is still a Japanese release of their original album available. Kate St.Claire is doing a solo project with Gyroscope records, and Nick Larid-Clowes is still doing work with David Gilmore of Pink Floyd fame.

Their finest hour. Other albums are great too, but this is definitive. Not a single average track. Love Parade sensational. Nick was supposed to be recording under the name Trash Monk on Creation Records this year - anyone heard anything? I also heard an unattributed new song from him on Radio 1 (UK) in 1994, played by his then-DJ friend, Emma Freud. Nothing came of it that I know of, though.

Forgot to say it could have been even better - original version of Poised on the Edge of Forever less polished but more accomplished than album version, and the acoustic version of The Party is by far and away superior to that included here (sounds anoraky, but undeniably true).

I bought this album as a second hand one because the man in front of the cover looks very much like Steve Hogarth of Marillion. I thought i had just got a rare item of Hogarth solo. (he released more musical things in the past under a different name). I listened the record an the voice of the singer was completely different from what i expected. In fact, it was dissapointing to me. But when i listened any further i began to notice that this is a great album and the first track was not unfamiliar to me. After all, i made a good bargain !

Life in a Northern Town is quite simply one of the most awesome songs I've ever heard. The Edge of Forever is also pretty cool. Dream Academy rocks!

A 1st rate CD. Definitely one of my favourites. Typically 1980's polished production that doesn't overtake the actual writing. After hearing the track "Life in a Northern Town" back in 1985, I couldn't believe The Dream Academy could have done better than that... I was wrong! 10 excellent tracks, on probably one of the most underrated CDs in pop music history.

I had to pay forty bucks for the japanese import and it's worth every penny... Would've paid ten times as much... Definitely my favorite album of all time... Dream Academy was ten years ahead of its time... They should've been superstars instead of fading into obscurity...

had no idea there were so many people out there with such good taste! Dream Academy were one of the best bands to come from the U.K. They are sorely missed & it is one of lifes great tragidies that that they never achieved any real commercial success.
The Dream Academy`s debut LP delivers some very Anglo-sounding music, plus a US top-ten single in the airy "Life In A Northern Town."
