Comments for Dream Academy, A Different Kind Of Weather

This is not as good as the groupıs debut and second albums. Check out Nick Heywardıs North of A Miracle if you like this kind of music.

This album starts solidly, with a repetitive, mantra-like version of Lennon's Love, and works up a heady pace on side 1, culminating in the stand out track, Waterloo - one of the finest paeans to a rail terminus ever submitted to celluloid. Side 2 continues in upbeat mode, but then gets lost with two slowies which ruin the pace of the package. Mostly a collection of good songs, but in the wrong order. Anything forgiven for the wonderfully haunting Waterloo, though.

Another underrated Dream Academy CD, though not as well put together as the haunting, ''The Dream Academy'' CD. The tracks were enjoyable but after their previous work, I expected better. The tunes themselves were superb, but didn''t seem to melt very well together onto the same CD.
