Comments for Dream Academy, Remembrance days

This is a recording which should have been embraced by the educated music community. Instead it is out of print far too soon. It's encouraging to find someone else who thinks so...

Of the three, this is the most patchy album. When it's good, it's mesmeric (Indian Summer, Ballad in 4/4, Here, In Exile), when it's bad, it's boring (Humdrum, Doubleminded). Kate's command of woodwind instruments is reaaly wonderful, and adds so much to each track. I don't understand why other bands don't embrace this sound. My very favourite band of all time - I love 'em to bits (and I even had the pleasure of meeting them - lovely, genuine people).

You have to check out song 6: Here. It is a great song. "And in my waking hour I want you, here." Then, I don't know what instrument is playing, maybe the cor anglais or whatever by Kate St. John, but it is very beautiful!

Oops! I just read above that it is the oboe played on the song Here, not the cor anglais.

Anyone who knows where I can get a copy of this album please e-mail me... It's the only one I don't have and would love to get a copy of it...

I found this CD at a used CD store in Cinncinnati. I am a big fan of the Dream Academy since their first album came out. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could obtain "Three Steps Past the Edge of Forever"?
This is the second albums from the group. Kate St. John plays very beautiful oboe on the track Here. Please drop me a line if you also like this ablum.

I too love this song! I cannot beleive when I googled this - only two hits came up.(this page being one of them). This was a favorite of mine from the very 1st time I've heard it, so much so that I've asked that it be played at my funeral! I cannot beleive more people have not embraced this song. What a magnificent little secret we all share.
