Comments for Fahey, John, Return of the Repressed: The John Fahey Anthology

For those who have not heard early John Fahey (hard to believe someone hasn't) this is an excellent opportunity. Over 2 hours of listening pleasure in this 2 CD set. CD 1 is more of his earlier work (1969 and earlier) while the second CD I suppose you could call his later work. All in all I was stunned to find the album and even more pleased when I got it home. Now if we could just get someone to produce all of John's album again, I could have an entirely new set.

A real pleasure. This is by far the best introductory work you could find that presents all of the best stuff Fahey has created. If you''re looking for something to hear by Fahey besides his Christmas albums, this is the best thing to get. It avoids some of the pitfalls of some of his previously released full albums, but can point the new listener to albums that will also be great listening.
