Comments for Heyward, Nick, from monday to sunday

E-MAIL: a-bruceh@microsoft.com
A real gem of an unknown pop album, Nick Heyward's "From Monday to Sunday" makes a perfect soundtrack for lazy summer afternoons taking a drive through the country or sipping lemonade by the pool. Although Nick references The Jam on this album and "Tangled" (his most recent work), he's actually a better pop writer than Paul Weller; sort of a poor man's McCartney. I must say, however, that it's been a while since Macca wrote a tune as heart-rendingly exquisite as "How Can You Live Without Sunshine"... The fact that this record can slip into obscurity while Hootie & the Blowfish sell zillions is proof of an evil conspiracy.

Terrific album. "Kite" got some airplay, but the best songs in my opinion are "January Man" and "Mr. Plain" -- pure pop bliss. Too bad this album didn''t get the attention it deserves.

This is a classic album. Buy it.
