Spookey's album is as haunting and as brilliant as Spookey himself... His visions of life and living are even wilder... A cross between genius and madness.

Spookey rules my world... it's nice to see a performer in the music industry who's actually INNOVATIVE instead of just ripping off the shit that's already out there (no need to mention names, Bush)... and he's Canadian to boot!! Spookey rules very much so (right up there with pineapple jelly). I found out about him through one of those dumb magazines that comes with a cd. Out of about 30 songs on it, Wendy Mc Donald was the only cool one. I got "modes" now he's my favourite band.I think my favourite song is "leave the city" But I love them all. Spookey is Wacky and Wonderfull, everyone should have his album!!

I first heard Spookey a few days ago when I bought a TVT sampler CD (GOT TVT?) and "Wendy McDonald" was on it. I think I've listened to that song about 50 times. I'm going to order one "Modes of Transportation" to go please.

I agree with all the other postings here, Spookey is one of the most original artists this decade (at least this decade) The more I listen to ''modes'' the more I notice.. there is sooo much going on in his music...not just a crap ass guitar riff and basic drum beat, but ''massive wobly sound''...I just a new album will be coming out soon.. anyone know anything about a new album??

I first listened to this CD after drinking two bottles of robitussin extra strength (just DXM, no guaifenisin or other shit). This CD changed my life! Ruben is so original it hurts my eyeteeth. My personal favorite is welcome to the house of food. I can never look at a box of chocolate cake and not start singing, right there in the bakery! I have the picture of Wendy Macdonald spray glued to the paper towel dispenser in my workshop, she greets me when I feel dirty, the little princess! Ruben simply must get another CD out soon or I'll have to go back to listening to Fatboy Slim when drinking cough syrup, not that Fatboy isn't cool, but I NEED more Spookey.
