Comments for Hassell, Jon, The Surgeon of the Nightsky Restores Dead Things by the Power of Sound

This is the best Hassell stuff, along with "4th World Volume 1" & maybe "Volume 2" in my opinion. Side One of this is great trance music played live and built around a nice descending bass pattern, around which the usual "clouds above mud" Hassell sound is generated. Very peaceful.

Jon Hassell (1937- ) is a trumpet player, though you`d never guess.His is an abstract, calm, ambient landscape that has an exoticyet calm feel to it - at least on this album. A live recording, thoughthere is no evidence of any audience.
