This could possibly be "the" ep of the year. Six great songs that you can remember after only one listen. Very catchy stuff. Indie and Arena rock collide head on. Please, nobody buy this album - I want to be the only kid in town that knows about this band!!!

I saw these guys in Knoxville and they totally blew me away live, so I bought the 6-songer "ChaChaCha". Very good songs, but they don't hit as hard on the CD as they do live. The two best songs would probably be "Float" and "Child". Highly suggested listening. Very grooooooooooooooovy.

I have to agree that the single off the album would be "Child" or possibly "Into You". Much more textured than the first album but it could stand a little more rawness. The mix is pretty tight-which is what I think makes it "clean"sounding.I like gruffier sounds, not so edgy. Overall a very good independent release from the honeyrods.

Track #1 is "Into You". Probably the most radio friendly song on the release-if that's what you're looking for.It is also the only one I have actually heard on the radio thus far.It kinda has an early distorted S.Pumpkins or Jellyfish feel to it. Track #2 is "Soap Opera". I'll pass on this one,but the guitars have a good melody line to them. Really indiePOP sounding and features the only guitar solo on the record. Track #3 is "Float". A real rocker. Good melody in the lyrics and music. Reminds me of Come or Failure for some reason, but more melodic. Track #4 is "One Big Foot" which fades in after the previous song. A good drum beat-the best drum work on the album. The drums and bass carry this song. Good breathy chorus. A lot of Hip-Hop meets 70's rock can be heard here. Track #5 is "By My Self". A greaty spacey sounding verse followed by a really hard hitting and melodic chorus. Some of the best vocals on the album. Track #6 is Child. Most definitely the hookiest guitar melodies on the album. Good word play lyrically. Nice and catchy, but the the production (possibly mixing or recording?-I don't know)seems off a little bit on this song. Overall, I have to give this CD an 7.5 out of 10. I will also review the first CD as soon as I can find a copy of it. Jerry N. Davis

I can only comment on "Soap Opera" E-MAIL: WalkerJ@usit.net
,but it is a very good song. It is the only one I have heard being played on the radio. I cannot find the CD or cassette anywhere I have looked. A couple of places said they have sold out and a lot of places doesn't even carry it. Peace.

I have heard two of these songs on the radio in Nashville. Are the Honey Rods from Nashville? I have been told they are. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Only two of the members are from Nashville. I am not sure which ones or where the others are from. I read this in the paper a few months back when they played Summer Lights.

Does anyone know if the first CD is still available and what songs are on it?

This is a great band. They have all the ingrediants for hitting it, and of course rocking out. Their newest full lenght album (self-titled) is even better. This is a really great band to check out.

Oh yea, both of the first EPs (the honeyrods, and Cha Cha Cha) are sold out and will not be re-released. So check out the brand new one, self-titled, with new and old songs on it, that kicks. In stores as of July 29th, 1997!
