Comments for New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, s-tE-MAIL: lorryr@ext.usu.edu I picked up this album and I just love it. Incredible sounds. I think that they should get together and do another album. I would definetely pick it up no qiestions asked. The New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble began with a dressing room conversation during the Toasters` 1994 European tour. They discovered they had independently come up with the same concept: taking classical instrumental ska and extending it via modern jazz harmonies and tunes. Together, they came up with the musicians they wanted for their `dream band`, and were lucky enough to get every one of them. From the start, the group has been based on two principles: playing the music as they hear it and having fun.
