The prototype of ''Jerry as bandleader.'' A fine selection of originals (by Peter Rowan and Hunter)and mostly covers. This was Jerry''s tribute album to his rock and R&B influences before tribute albums became all the rage. Kinda like Jerry''s version of Laura Nyro''s ''Gonna Take a Miracle.'' Nice.

Good but weird album. Strange selection of covers (only thelast song is Robert Hunter) and more brass than guitars.Jerry takes on ChuckBerry, Smokey, The Rolling Stones, Van(etc.) Tracks 1, 3, 4, 6, & 8 became Jerry Garcia Bandstandards with track 2 having rare appearances
