True, it''s hit and miss, but where it hits, it''s beautiful... as in the achingly haunting Midnight Getaway. Jerry''s jazzy guitar playing toward the ending of this song makes this writer wonder why the man didn''t venture more into the jazz idiom. Garcia''s voice, while weakened, probably from the demons he was facing at the time, still remains expressive on this album, but at times it does sound pretty thin. Oh, and the song Valerie is a joy to behold!

His weakest solo album. Slick production, bad arrangementsespecially track 2 - terrible Beatles cover. Some of thesongs themselves are good & were performed regularly bythe Jerry Garcia Band. Many live versions are better. Onlyfor the Jerry completist.
