Comments for Rypdal, Terje, Blue

This CD, though short, is the second release by Terje and the Chasers. The sound quality is improved over the previous release, and his guitar playing has never been sharper. The only criticism I could possibly level at this record is that it strays from the introspective, dreamy quality that pervades his earlier work. It''s great power-fusion, but is much more immediate. This pop sensibility is explored to its fullest on the next release, "The Singles Collection". If you like excellent guitar, you can''t go wrong with Mr. Rypdal and his gang of co-horts. The track Kompet Gar has an absolutely gigantic groove that Rypdal''s guitar alternately goes hysterical and luxuriates in.
