Comments for Goldie, Timeless

This is mellower in some ways than what I was expecting, but I find it a pretty fascinating album. He kind of takes the standard Romantic R & B thing and twists it so that it goes in other directions and adds other dimensions. The "jungle" break-beat aspect is fairly subtle and in the end that makes it more interesting. Definitely recommended for people looking for adventurous dance-oriented music. I happened onto a web site that had Goldie talking about his early life raised in some state-run home and his isolation due to being mulatto and how liberating it was for him to become part og the hip-hop scene, first as part of a break-dance group, then as a graffiti artist and eventually dj'ing and recording. He definitely came across as a deep character. I'm not surprised that Bjork, definitely one of the most vital artists around today, would get together with him.
