Comments for Sparkmarker, Products & Accessories

Without question one of my favorite records of all time. Products And Accessories actually compiles four of the band's 7"s, each one released on a different label (Atomos, Plug, Gerberick, and Scallen, I think). The lengthy spoken word bit at the end of the compact disc appears on none of these 7"s, however. Final Notice is, I believe, the band's own label. Releases on the label, including Products And Accessories are tough to come by. This record is heavy but rich with subtlety, just really brilliant post-hardcore songwriting. Perfect production by Don Fury rounds the record out.

As a member of sparkmarker all i can say is that we're sorry that it is so hard to find. Yes, we put it out our selves so it is quite clear that we are better at making music than distributing records. It is available through Revelation Records Mailorder in California. I don't have the address handy but just do a search on it. The singer, Ryan, from Products and accessories is no longer in the band, Kim (me) now sings as well as plays guitar. Jordan, the roadie, come in as second guitarist. New record and new tour in spring of '97

This album is pretty weak compared to their newer stuff. Like you probably read, Kim sings for sparmarker now and he does such a better job than the old singer. the new album 500watt@burnerseven is out now on crisis/revelation, buy it ''cuz it rules the earth. One of the best things to come out of Vancouver.

Sparkmarker`s style reminds me of Quicksand and Fugazi.
