INSIDING is a compilation of two scores written by BruceGilbert of Wire. The first piece, "Bloodlines", was a scorewritten for a ballet by Ashley Page commissioned by TheRoyal Ballet in 1990. It consists of a series of movements(aboutnine in all)that range from `mean`/`soft` ambient to slow minimal toup-beat electro. The title cut, "Insiding", is of a similar ilk. It was written for a film by Ashley Page and others back in 1989. It contains about five movements ranging from slow newage and foundsounds to industrial drones. This entire album reminds me of the musicthat usually accompanied the Merce Cunningham dances.
