Comments for Q5, Steel the Light

E-MAIL: laurie.skouge@itron.com
these guys are out of Seattle and at one time included Floyd Rose as there guitarist
I found this album in the $1.00 record bin at Wal-Marta few years ago, and I knew with a title like "Steel theLight" it had to be good. It was a dollar well-spent.The album is crudely produced, but the band showed somereal potential. Great White included "Ain`t No Way to Treat a Lady" on their "Let it Rock" album, so someone inthat group must be a fan as well. My favorite line in thealbum is "someday you will see me standing on the stageand you`ll say, `Hey I used to know that guy.`"It`s a classic that never made it. Too bad for us rockfans.

Awesome album. I bought it a long time ago in the import section. It was never released on CD but, the 2nd album "When The Mirror Cracks" was released on CD. It's a good album but, not as good as "Steel The Light". It's a shame to see a band with such potential end up going no further.

If you like Q5 then check out the band Nightshade. The original singer and guitar player from Q5 formed Nightshade in the late 90's and put out two very excellent cd's, Men of Iron and Dead of Night. Very similiar to Steel the light in sound and quality, awesome stuff!
