Comments for Tarney-Spencer Band, Run For Your Life

E-MAIL: sbfp@zip.com.au
My comments on the "Three's a Crowd" Album hold good for this one - an excellent Album for both the musician and non-musician to savor. Their version of 'Lies' could well be released as a single today and be a hit. Bill Bowley

This album got me and my 20 man fire crew through 3 seasons. On fires, after all, there is no time to lose.

run for your life summed up my college years..i was a dj my entire college life, outside of springsteens 1st album.tarney/spencer meant more to me. now, i'm 43 ,and still long for the sweet + unique harmonies etc. i'm probably trying to relive it all..i still buy + listen to new music..tarney/spencer were very important to me 25 years ago..they are one of the few who stay that necessary to me to this day (and not the least obscure)

"Run For Your Life" has always been one of my favorites albums (I'm listening to it as I write these comments), too bad its unavailable on compact disc. From the Lindsey Buckingham influenced bass lines of "No Time To Lose" (my favorite) and the great deep and personal lyrics of "The Race Is Almost Run", "Run For Your Life and "Live Again" in particular, the songs are real encouraging. I wish The Tarney/Spencer Band (managed by Jerry Weintraub, Management III) were still on the musical radar screen. This album really smokes!!!! -Bumper Morgan

"No time to lose" had such a profound effect on me 20 years ago that I've been looking for a recording of this song ever since. I will accept any media. Please contact me if you have any recording of this song available. Thanks.

"Run For Your Life" was a fabulous album! I still throw it on the turntable once in a while and crank it up. Scratches and all. But, I believe that there is one album that is even better than that one and that is Tarney Spencer Band's "Threes's A Crowd. Beauty!!! I think someone over there at A&M Records should do us all a great big favor and make both of these masterpieces availlable on compact disc. Especially for us fans up here in Canada. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

I WOULD LIKE ANY INFORMATION ON HOW I COULD OBTAIN A COPY (CD) OF THE ALBUM, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. I HAVE SEARCHED EVERY MEANS POSSIBLE. LAST YEAR MY BROTHER PASSED AWAY. SUFFERING FOR 25 YEARS WITH MS. HE LOVED THAT SONG. EVER SINCE I FOUND OUT HE LOVED IT SO I HAVE BEEN ON THE SEARCH. I HAVEN'T HEARD IT ON THE RADIO FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. IT WOULD MEAN SO MUCH TO ME TO GET A COPY OF THIS ALBUM. I'VE LOOKED EVERYWHERE. ANY HELP YOU COULD GIVE ME I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU.
In case anyone wasn't aware, Cliff Richard's 1980 "I'm no hero" album (available on CD) was practically another Tarney\Spencer album with a guest lead vocalist. (It even contains "A heart will break tonight".) Just thought I'd mention it.

Run for your life has been released on CD but only in germany and only 1500 Copies were pressed. A few months ago I was lucky enough to pick up a copy on ebay. It still can be find there sometimes

I find it odd that a killer song like "No Time To Lose" has never turned up on one of those cd collections somewhere. I've still got a mint copy of Run For Your Life and I plan to transfer it to cd myself once I get the software hooked up to my computer. It's about time someone did this band justice. Rennaisance Records was our best bet, but as far as I know, they no longer exist.

I have a copy of the Ultra rare German CD pressing of this brilliant album in my collection. email me if you are desperate for a copy on a CD format ("nudge-nudge!"). this album compares favourably to anything by AC/DC. allister hardwick (SEpt 2004).London.UK.

Like many of you, I looked for "No time to Lose" for most of my life since hearing it on MTV in '83 as a teenager. Perhaps it is my favorite rock song of all. I was in Portland, OR in 2000 and was listening to KGON there and it came on the radio several times. They were promoting the 25th anniversary of the radio station with a CD containing No time to lose. I immediately pointed my rent car for the first Millenium Music that I could find and spent the best $10 of my life. Until then, all I had was a couple of chopped off radio recordings of No time to lose that I snagged while living in Dallas. Like the rest of you out there, a CD of Run for your life would be nice to have. I have my KGON disc locked away in my safe, recorded plenty of times.
I Found Tarney Spencer Band's Run For Your Life Album with No Time To Lose on CD. I had to pay $60.00 but it was well worth it!!
